“Roy’s Market switched from fully insured to self-funded for a couple of reasons. The overall group was healthy with little adverse health selection. The group had the opportunity to possibly get a refund back by going with a self-funded product. No reason to spend money on plan that had little utilization. The refunds have been very advantageous for the group the last 2 years
